To Supplement or not to Supplement, that is the question!



If we lived in a perfect world, the answer would most likely be NO.  In a perfect world, our food sources and way of life would be more than adequate to take care of all our dietary and emotional needs.  Unfortunately, our modern day environment and lifestyle is so profoundly different than it was 100 years ago.  So much so, my belief supports the fact that supplementing our diet is absolutely imperative.


Over the years the quality of our food has diminished and become less nutritionally dense:

  • A decline in soil diversity and quality (and consequent decline in nutrient density of foods).  In 1948 a cup of spinach yielded 158mg of iron, today it yields 2mg of iron.  The soil cannot produce what it does not have!

The wonders of Kombucha

The ancient Chinese discovered the health benefits of Kombucha tea more than 2,000 years ago; they called it an “immortal health elixir.”  Today, this tea has gained recognition around the world as a potent health beverage.  It is known to be effective in reducing the risks of certain health problems like preventing and fighting cancer, arthritis, and other degenerative diseases and promoting overall health.

Kombucha tea is made from the fermentation of a mixture of sweetened tea and SCOBY, which is a Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast (a.k.a. “mother” because of its ability to reproduce, or “mushroom” because of its appearance).

Health Benefit #1 – Detoxifies the Body

One of the most important health benefits of Kombucha tea is that it can detoxify your body, which keeps your liver healthy.  It contains many of the enzymes and bacterial acids your body produces and/or uses to detox your system, thus reducing your pancreatic load and easing the burden on your liver. Hooked on Lemon Essential Oil!

Get that Lemon Oil in and on your body!


Love, love, love the taste of my pure filtered drinking water with a drop or two of Lemon Essential Oil. It makes the 8-10 glasses a day go down so well! If I am out and about and need to hydrate with water at a restaurant then Lemon Oil not only gives the tap water a much better taste but it also purifies and alkalizes it. Now that’s what I am talking about!

On a personal note:  I only recommend Young Living Essential Oils, especially for ingesting.

By adding 2-3 drops of lemon oil to a glass of water before a meal, you may find that it aids with digestion, and best of all may help with your weight-loss efforts by boosting that ol’ metabolism. Plus it has no calories!  Yeah!

Tip: only use a real glass “glass”, no plastic or throw aways, as Lemon oil WILL dissolve items made from petrochemicals and Styrofoam.
